Cold Headed
Cold heading, or cold forming, begins with a coiled wire or rod being fed into a cold heading machine. The machine cuts the wire into predetermined lengths and partially inserts the wire into a die to create a head or a round shoulder. Cold heading creates strong products because the material’s grain is preserved. Materials include steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, brass, and more.
